SUIS US High School focuses on students’ art education. On March 16, SUIS Wanyuan proudly invited four musical experts – Mr. Wang Luoyong, the first Chinese on Boardway, Mr. Jack Newman, Director of AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) International Outreach, Mr. Junnan Liao, Assistant Director of AMDA International Outreach and Mr. Christopher Stephens, AMDA Vocal Coach.<\/p>\n

\u5728\u53e4\u8272\u53e4\u9999\u7684\u56fd\u6e58\u4e66\u9662\uff0c\u738b\u6d1b\u52c7\u5148\u751f\u548c\u97f3\u4e50\u5267\u5b66\u9662\u7684\u8001\u5e08\u4eec\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u77ed\u7247\u548c\u5b66\u751f\u4eec\u7684\u5206\u4eab\u4e86\u89e3\u534f\u548c\u4e07\u6e90\u3002\u4e0e\u6b64\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u5347\u5b66\u6307\u5bfc\u8001\u5e08\u3001\u827a\u672f\u8001\u5e08\u4ecb\u7ecd\u4e86\u7559\u7f8e\u827a\u672f\u4e13\u4e1a\u65b9\u5411\u7684\u5b9e\u7528\u4fe1\u606f\u3002<\/p>\n

The afternoon begins with a general meeting between our students, arts teachers and the musical expert team. The experts gathered information about\u00a0SUIS US High School students’ rich artistic and culture life through\u00a0short video and conversation with the students and teachers. They also introduced\u00a0the enrollment requirements and policies to American\u00a0arts institutions at college level.<\/p>\n

\u7d27\u63a5\u7740\uff0cAMDA\u56fd\u9645\u751f\u62db\u751f\u90e8\u95e8\u4e3b\u7ba1 Jack Newman \u5148\u751f\u5411\u540c\u5b66\u4eec\u4ecb\u7ecd AMDA \u5b66\u6821\u6982\u51b5\uff0c\u5982\u4f55\u7533\u8bf7\u3001\u5b66\u6821\u770b\u4e2d\u5b66\u751f\u54ea\u4e9b\u7d20\u8d28\u7b49\u3002\u968f\u540e\uff0c\u58f0\u4e50\u6307\u5bfc Christopher Stephens \u5148\u751f\u4e3a\u540c\u5b66\u4eec\u5e26\u6765\u4e86\u4e00\u573a\u522b\u5f00\u751f\u9762\u7684\u97f3\u4e50\u5267\u5c0f\u8bfe\u5802\u3002\u4ed6\u7528\u65b0\u9896\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u6559\u6388\u5927\u5bb6\u4e00\u66f2\u300aBlue Kiss\u300b\u3002\u5148\u7528\u97f3\u4e50\u66f2\u8c03\u5e26\u540c\u5b66\u4eec\u4f53\u4f1a\u97f3\u7b26\u3001\u8282\u594f\u6240\u52fe\u52d2\u7684\u753b\u9762\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u8bf7\u540c\u5b66\u5bcc\u6709\u97f5\u5f8b\u5730\u8bf5\u8bfb\u6b4c\u8bcd\uff0c\u6700\u540e\u5c06\u6b4c\u8bcd\u586b\u5165\u65cb\u5f8b\u3002Christopher \u5148\u751f\u4ee5\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u5f15\u5bfc\u5927\u5bb6\u5728\u4e50\u66f2\u4e2d\u878d\u5165\u80a2\u4f53\u548c\u60c5\u611f\uff0c\u589e\u5f3a\u6f14\u5531\u65f6\u7684\u81ea\u4fe1\u4e0e\u8868\u73b0\u529b\u3002<\/p>\n

After the meeting, the three AMDA tutors conducted all the students in a vivid musical workshop. After\u00a0Director Newman’s short presentation about AMDA, the Vocal Coach Mr. Stephens\u00a0adopted an special\u00a0method to teach the\u00a0students a brand new song \u201cBlue Kiss\u201d. He first led students feeling the music lines, feeling the emotion behind\u00a0tuning and\u00a0rhythm; followed by a\u00a0rhythmatic text read through; after the first two steps, students found it natural and easy to put the lyrics into the melody. The\u00a0idea behind this method was to encourage students to\u00a0incorporate text and music into their bodies and emotions, thus\u00a0enhancing their confidence and expressiveness.<\/p>\n

\u5f53\u5929\u7684\u6d3b\u52a8\uff0c\u4ee4\u6240\u6709\u540c\u5b66\u53d7\u76ca\u532a\u6d45\u3002\u6765\u81ea\u5341\u5e74\u7ea7\u7684\u66f9\u5146\u96c4\u540c\u5b66\u8bf4\uff1a<\/p>\n

\u201c\u738b\u7f57\u52c7\u5148\u751f\u7684\u6545\u4e8b\u6df1\u6df1\u9707\u64bc\u4e86\u6211\u3002\u5f53\u4ed6\u516b\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\u521a\u5230\u7f8e\u56fd\u65f6\u4ed6\uff0c\u82f1\u8bed\u5e26\u7740\u4e25\u91cd\u7684\u4e9a\u6d32\u53e3\u97f3\u3002\u4ed6\u53d1\u73b0\u4e9a\u6d32\u4eba\u8bf4\u82f1\u6587\u65f6\u820c\u5934\u4f38\u4e0d\u51fa\u6765\uff0c\u540e\u69fd\u7259\u6253\u4e0d\u5f00\u3002\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u738b\u8001\u5e08\u4ee5\u60ca\u4eba\u7684\u6bc5\u529b\u5f00\u59cb\u4e86\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u8bad\u7ec3\u3002\u4e3a\u4e86\u77eb\u6b63\u53d1\u97f3\uff0c\u738b\u8001\u5e08\u54ac\u6728\u585e\u7ec3\u4e60\u3002\u4e00\u5230\u590f\u5929\u6728\u585e\u5c31\u4f1a\u70c2\uff0c\u4e8e\u662f\u5f00\u59cb\u7528\u77f3\u5934\u57ab\u5728\u5634\u91cc\uff1b\u4e3a\u4e86\u514b\u670d\u4f38\u4e0d\u51fa\u820c\u5934\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u738b\u8001\u5e08\u4e13\u95e8\u7528\u7ef7\u5e26\u62d4\u7740\u820c\u5934\u7ec3\u82f1\u6587\u3002\u738b\u8001\u5e08\u7684\u51b3\u5fc3\u548c\u6bc5\u529b\u4ee4\u4eba\u94a6\u4f69\uff0c\u4e5f\u4f7f\u6211\u5145\u6ee1\u4e86\u79ef\u6781\u9762\u5bf9\u4e00\u5207\u7684\u52c7\u6c14\uff01\u201d<\/p>\n

All the students learned a lot from the lecture. David Cao from Grade 10 said:<\/p>\n

Mr. Wang told us a story about how he have strived for his career in US. When he arrived in the United States in 80s, his English is no better than any others. He found that when Asians speak English we have a strong Chinese accent. However, as an actor he can’t allow his Chinese accent jeoperdize his career, so Mr. Wang started practice his English with astonishing determination. In order to correct his pronunciation, Mr. Wang used a wooden plug to practice pronunciation, but the wooden plug would rot as soon as summer came, so Mr. Wang began to pad a stone in his mouth. In order to overcome the problem of not sticking his tongue out, Mr. Wang used a bandage to pull his tongue out while he was practicing. Mr. Wang’s perseverance and courage deeply shocked me!<\/p>\n
